January 18, 2002, Newsletter Issue #46: Three is the Key

Tip of the Week

Most publishers choose a bold sans serif type for headlines (perhaps, Arial or Helvetica) and a serif type for the body copy. Since you are trying to make your newsletter easy to read, using a style like Times Roman for your articles will increase readability (the serifs allow for a natural "flow" for your eyes to follow).

Your newsletter will also be more coherent looking if you use no more than three different point sizes of type throughout the publication. Here we go..."Three is the Key!" - find out what they are!
